
By combining both self-directed and structured activities, the preschool curriculum provides opportunities for the children to develop skills and encourage creativity. Planned activities focus on problem-solving, language, physical and social/emotional skill building. Children enjoy a variety of activities with emphasis placed on school readiness.
Preschool Schedule
| 6:30-7:30 | Interest areas in Preschool One – all areas open (book area, small motor, art, music, blocks, dramatic play, and science) |
| 7:30-8:15 | Classroom opens with all interest areas available (book area, small motor, art, music, blocks, dramatic play, and science) |
| 8:15-8:30 | Preparation for breakfast (soap and sanitize tables, wash children’s hands) |
| 8:30-9:00 | Breakfast (one teacher sits with children) and table talk. |
| 9:00-9:10 | Breakfast clean up. |
| 9:10-9:30 | Active Music Time (once teacher leads activity while other monitors bathroom, sanitizes potties and sinks) |
| 9:30-10:00 | Circle time with introduction to the days activities. |
| 10:00-10:30 | Outside time (gross motor activities and dramatic play materials or Middle Play Area depending on weather. |
| 10:30-10:40 | Active music time (one teacher does active music activity while other teacher washes hands) |
| 10:40-11:15 | All interest areas open including sand table and sand toys (books, small motor, art, music, books, dramatic play, and science) Wash hands before and after sand play. |
| 11:15-11:30 | Preparation for lunch (clean up centers, soap and sanitize tables, wash hands) |
| 11:30-12:00 | Lunch time (one teacher sits at table while other vacuums and rejoins group) table talk. |
| 12:00-12:15 | Quiet time (one teacher on carpet doing flannel stories, other cleans lunch and monitors bathroom time/sanitizes potties and sinks) |
| 12:15-12:30 | Cots out, lights out, not too dark, soft music playing, patting backs. |
| 12:30-2:30 | Nap time (prepare curriculum for next few days, work on daily reports, sanitize) Put cots away and monitor potty time as children wake up. |
| 2:45-3:15 | Snack time and snack clean up (one teacher sits at table) table talk. |
